Prairie Meadows & Polk County Host Celebration to Honor Veterans
Altoona, IA. (November 10, 2023) – Prairie Meadows and Polk County are hosting a Veterans Day Celebration, “Saluting Our Veterans” to honor veterans for their service on November 10 at The Meadows Event Center at Prairie Meadows. In honor of our nation’s heroes, veterans and the general public we are pleased to invite to a free celebration ceremony and lunch.
“Veterans embody the spirit of selflessness and service. We extend our heartfelt appreciation to all veterans for safeguarding our freedom. We salute these heroes, and our cherished guests, valued business partners and dedicated colleagues who have proudly defended our nation, and thank them and their families for their sacrifices,” said Gary Palmer, CEO & President of Prairie Meadows Racetrack and Casino.
The formal program will begin at 11 a.m. with presentation of colors by Polk County Sheriff’s Office Color Guard, the National Anthem performed by Southeast Polk’s Chamber Ensemble Choir, and Pledge of Allegiance by Cub Scout Pack 83 and Girl Scout Troop 33. The celebration also includes remarks from keynote speaker Major, United States Marine Corps, (Ret.). Sean T. Quinlan. Guests will enjoy patriotic music, remarks from local and state officials, and free lunch for all attendees.
