Prairie Meadows & Polk County Begin Distributions In Annual School Funding Initiative
February 13, 2025– Altoona, IA. Polk County and Prairie Meadows have begun distributions for their yearly funding initiative for Polk County schools. The joint venture allows unrestricted access to additional funds for 16 public school districts to advance education in their communities. This year’s combined funding amounts to $1,311,256.91 and is distributed according to district enrollment. Most school districts use the additional funds for items such as technology upgrades, additional online resources, or staffing.
Polk County Board of Supervisors Chair, Matt McCoy says, “Polk County Board of Supervisors and Prairie Meadows are pleased to be able to support public education in Polk County through this partnership. Education is our strength as a community and building a strong public education system is imperative for the success of our communities and neighborhoods.”

This is the 18th year Polk County and Prairie Meadows have shared joint funds specifically for Polk County schools.
