The Gregory & Suzie Glazer Burt Boys & Girls Club Has Grand Opening

Drake University and the Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Iowa opened the Gregory & Suzie Glazer Burt Club August 23, 2019. The 21,000 square foot facility — which serves more than 200 area youths — was in built in part with a $400,000 Legacy grant from Prairie Meadows. Two regulation size basketball courts, a test kitchen, computer lab, recording studio, library, game rooms, and lounges make up the new two-story facility at the northeast edge of Drake University’s campus. The entity will provide local kids and teens with a safe, supportive place to be after school and during the summer, offering structured programs and staff role models. Additionally, the Club provides numerous educational and service opportunities for Drake’s students and further integrates the University with the surrounding neighborhood.
