Prairie Meadows donates $150,000 to Children’s Cancer Connection

Prairie Meadows recently awarded Children’s Cancer Connection a Legacy Grant totaling $150,000. The grant will help fund the completion of the CCC renovation and playground project at the Jeff and Deb Hansen Home for Hope. “This generous gift from Prairie Meadows will bring CCC across the finish line of our overall facility renovation project,” Jennifer Hines, Children’s Cancer Connection CEO, said in a prepared release. “It is vital to CCC participants’ health and well-being that they be provided opportunities to connect with one another and that programs be held in an accessible location.” CCC recently upgraded the interior of its Johnston facility and constructed the Variety Star Playground. Upcoming outdoor improvements include the addition of a sports court for CCC programs and the Gold Ribbon Walkway, which will honor children whose lives were lost to cancer. The project is expected to be completed this fall.
