Easter Seals Society of Iowa Receives $400,000 Legacy Grant

Easterseals Iowa, which was established more than 90 years ago to support persons with disabilities across the state, was recently awarded a $400,000 Legacy Grant from Prairie Meadows in 2019. The grant will fund their Independence Innovation Center at Camp Sunnyside, which will provide the Easterseals’ team members a central location to meet, collaborate, and create an environment of inclusiveness for all of their current and prospective team members. In addition to this project, dollars will be used to renovate the building that currently serves as the main office which will increase program space for Easterseals’ Young Adult and Teen Day Program. The construction and renovation of buildings at Camp Sunnyside will continue Easterseals Iowa’s commitment of caring for children and adults with physical and intellectual disabilities, mental illness, and special needs.
