Central College Receives $100,000 Legacy Grant from Prairie Meadows

In an effort to support Central College’s $6 million renovation of Douwstra Auditorium — the heart of Central’s campus since 1939 — Prairie Meadows offered a $100,000 legacy grant for the $2.2 million Phase I segment of the project, which is now complete. An integrated audio-visual control system, new seating, a state-of-the-art sound mixer and speaker system, and an assistive listening system are just a few of the additions funded by the grant. Phase II of the renovations include a new, handcrafted pipe organ and infrastructure improvements assuring that Douwstra Auditorium will continue to enhance the arts at Central and provide a destination concert hall for the state of Iowa.
