Broadlawns Birthing Center Now Open with Help of Prairie Meadows Funding

In August 2020, Broadlawns Medical Center opened a state-of-the-art birthing center within its newly constructed 41,900 square foot hospital addition. The Broadlawns Birthing Center is comprised of 10 labor/delivery/recovery/post-partum suites, a nursery, an isolation nursery, two triage suites, and a C-section operating suite. 

Construction of the $31 million hospital expansion began in November 2018 and was completed in August 2020. Funding to equip the the Birthing Center came from grants and private donors, including Prairie Meadows’ $125,000 Community Betterment grant in 2019. 

“It’s an understatement to say that we are excited to have something to celebrate in healthcare right now,” said Jody Jenner, President and CEO of Broadlawns. “The new hospital floor is a tremendous step forward for our medical campus and will allow Broadlawns to provide the highest standards of care for our patients.”
