Since 2001, Prairie Meadows has awarded over 200 central Iowa students with a $2500 scholarship. Prairie Meadows is delighted to be able to offer two $2500 scholarships to every high school in Polk County and two $2500 scholarships to Prairie Meadows employees.

To be eligible for the Prairie Meadows scholarship,
a student must meet the following criteria:

  • Accepted at an accredited Iowa institution
  • United States citizen or permanent resident for at least two consecutive years
  • Graduating senior of a Polk County high school, Prairie Meadows employee or child of a Prairie Meadows employee
  • Full-time undergraduate student
  • Courses must be taken on the campus of the institution

APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS

  • Students must have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.5.
  • Students must show participation in community and school activities.
  • An essay must be written and submitted by the student addressing the challenge of retaining Iowa's students and young adults to help make Iowa a better place to live and work.
  • Two letters of recommendation from individuals other than family members who can verify the information included in the application

SELECTION CRITERIA

Students selected for awards will be those who show a variety of positive attributes such as academic achievement and community or church involvement.
